Babajide is one of the most talented young men I know. To call him talented would really be an understatement and a slap to the various distinguishing talents he possesses.
I believe the word I would be looking for is Multi-faceted gifted young man but one thing is his doom, and that is his low-self esteem and his constant need for approval and validation and this is why he would do anything and be anything successful at any point at any day just to be praised and hyped by his friends and neighborhood supposed big boys.
This time around luck and charisma has failed Babs as he is fondly called, he is stuck in a mess he may never recover from but who knows anything can happen, after all miracles still happen and I, my dear friend believe in miracles.
Just three months ago Babs in his usual parole around the estate with his boys and one of his father’s cars met a lovely young lady, this beautiful princess appears educated and highly responsible but little did Babs know that wolves also play around in sheep’s clothing.
At first, the relationship was an endearing one and the whole neighbourhood thought this lady would be the one to change Babs life forever because in less than a month he was the opposite of everything he used to be.
He spent more hours at home and his free time with the girl, it was really exciting at first then gradually he became a shadow of himself, the bright light in his eyes started to drift the sarcasm in his replies went to rest if at all he got a chance to reply to your comments.
After a while, he went nowhere without this young lady and we all assumed it was the change of lifestyle and love that whore him out until last week at Babs father’s 50th birthday party where we all saw Rony the love of Babs life hand Babs a cold slap at the dead of the night.
It was a horrible scene to behold to see a once so bright light turn into a shadow of himself in the space of weeks or months. What could Rony have over Babs no one could tell, as we all watched him run after her seconds following the hot slap and a walkout.
