When it comes to trending fashion, there are no rules and regulations that women from around the world have not broken. Is there any “appropriate” fashion rule to live by?
Do we live by a certain fashion tradition? Many times, we have heard, don’t combine “native attire” (Ankara) with English wear (omg! I feel guilty) wear plain on the pattered shirt – avoid pattern on pattern, stay away from sneakers with Ankara gown, don’t mix black and blue, and a lot more.
There isn’t any fashion commandment as the headline states, however, there are guidelines for fashion.
With the guidelines, there is space to make your style, but note that “you are addressed the way you dress.”
Fashion ideas for women.
1. Fashion is fun: Fashion should be stress-free and fun. Experiment with everything, if it goes wrong shrug it off, there is a lot to deal with.
2. Wear what fits you: Do you feel comfortable? Do you feel classy in it? Do you feel good, awesome in it? Do not ever wear what makes you feel low self-esteem or downtrodden.
When dressing, always think of YOU, because your body structure is beautifully unique, hence you should wear what fit and express your personality. Your body is different, and so, is your sense of style, keep it simple.
3. Abstain from trends, stick to classy: Trendy fashion items come and go, it is here today, gone tomorrow, they are not permanent on the trend table, hence, the need to indulge in a classy fashion that will stand the test of time. A classy fashion item is an investment.
It is not wrong to want to be trendy, however, sometimes, it is better to be different.
Not every trendy is for everybody, be trendy following your pocket size and ask yourself “is this likely going to be fashionable next year”?
4. Flat heals or High heels: Life’s too short to wear heels that make you miserable. Don’t join the crowd to glamorise high heels, wear what you feel comfy in and suits the occasion.
5. Be prepared: Have your fabulous outfit and ready to go. As a lady, you are likely to get a special invite anytime, be prepared. You might also want to keep a clean ironed white shirt in your closet, ready to wear too.
6. Enough said about outer fashion items, invest in your underwear and shapewear. Why? They are the foundation of good looks and confidence.
Pick comfortable fabrics (I am tempted to say material here) that work for you, and pay attention to the washing instruction ( we hardly do that in this part of the world).
7. Remember your financial earnings when making purchases: Do not exceed your monthly earnings on an outfit. If you mess with it, the rest of the month is likely going to be messy.
