What happens when we praise God in difficult times?

Praising God is something to enjoy, but there will be times when this will be difficult.

But if you can overcome this barrier during difficult times, it will profoundly affect your entire well-being.

What Happens When we Praise God in Difficult Times

Here are several critical aspects of what happens when we choose to praise God during challenging circumstances:

    Spiritual Benefits

    • Strengthening Faith

Believing and praising God, even in difficult times, strengthens our faith and belief in the goodness and sovereignty of the lord. If you can find the will to praise the lord even while facing persecution, imagine when things are going well.

This helps you grow spiritually and prepares you for any future adversities.  It doesn’t mean that your worries automatically stop existing, but at least you are now more focused on the mercy of God rather than possibly making the problem impossible.

And he is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

Psalm 34:1, for example, states, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

    • Closeness to the Lord

Praising God during difficulty brings you closer to God as he comforts you amidst the trials of life.

Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, and walk and not be faint.

    • Shift in Perspective

While you may be experiencing difficulties, it also helps put other things in perspective. You get to see the different ways things are running well in your life. Reminding yourself of God’s faithfulness can inspire faith and hope. Refocusing on God by praising him in difficult times can be very helpful and boost your life.

    • Protection

Even when you think the lord has forsaken you, he has not and keeps fighting other battles you know nothing about. So, continue praising your lord.

    • Stress Reduction

It brings a sense of calm and peace as you expel negative emotions like worry and fear by raising your spirits in praise.

Philippians 4:6-7 encourages believers to present their requests to God with thanksgiving, promising that God’s peace, which transcends understanding, will guard their hearts and minds.

    • Build a Support Network.

It helps to strengthen bonds as everyone comes together to pray for a miracle. It also serves as a testimony for others, encouraging and inspiring them to trust God.
