I mean, I’ve heard that the second time is a charm, but I guess that doesn’t apply to me. I’m constantly meeting the wrong types of men.
After a failed relationship with Mr. Adetunji when I was 17, I decided to try again. By the way, I am now enrolled in school. I’m in my second year of philosophy at the University of Lagos, which is my dream course. It wasn’t easy to get into Unilag. I finally got in after taking the jamb and their entrance exam four times.
Emeka was one of the few friends I made in my first year of high school, along with a few others, and we formed an awesome clique right away, as you wouldn’t find one without the others. My clique was made up of Emeka, Yemi, Onyeka, and Adebayo. We were best of friends, but we were not in the same department in school.
Emeka began asking me out toward the end of my first year, second semester. He’d usually go on about how he’d failed in love with me since the first time we met, and so on. At first, I found him quite irritating.
Don’t misunderstand me. I think Emeka is a nice boy who is also very intelligent, but he is my friend, and I can’t imagine switching from being his friend to being his lover, especially given how he treats and talks about other girls. Emeka is a stratified player who enjoys having his own way.
I decided to give him a chance after much persuasion from him and my other friends. After all, he’s my friend, and he’d never do anything to break or hurt my heart. Oh my goodness, how wrong I could have been………
