We’re no longer hunting for prestige viewing these days. It’s just too distressing. Most of us want a large comfort watch. And nothing is more reassuring than a swoony, cringe, funny teen movie. It’s difficult to pinpoint why these films are so soothing movies for teens.

Perhaps it’s because emotions at that age are so raw and intense that they linger, even years later. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the first bloom of love is always the most intense. Perhaps it’s because teens have no filter, allowing the filthiest jokes to escape their tongues.
