Dry your hair: Make sure there are no wet hair strands in your hair before you start dreadlocking. Depending on your desire, You can air dry or blow dry your hair.

Begin Sectioning: Using a comb, divide your hair into distinct parts.

Dread Perm: First, sectioned hair strands are coiled in coils. A chemical relaxer is used, which causes the bonds between the hair strands to break. Once the relaxer thoroughly infiltrates the hair, it will be rinsed and neutralized.

Twist and Rip Method

Step 1: It is best to begin learning how to create dreadlocks with freshly shampooed, product-free hair. Use a shampoo and conditioner set that will provide hydration and remove residue from your hair.

Step 2: Make the parts you will need to tie dreadlocks.

Dividing up your hair into sections will help the process come together. Using your fingers or any comb, divide your hair into square sections beginning at the front nape of the hairline. Each section can range in size from ½ inch sections to larger ones.

Step 3: Get your hair twisted.

Section by section, start two-strand twisting your hair to initiate the dreadlock. The most crucial stage in learning how to create dreadlocks is this one. To hold your sections in place, secure them at the root with a hair tie or rubber band.

Step 4: Tease your hair.

Use a fine-toothed comb to gradually tease each twist upward if you want a messier finish. Pull the hair ends apart as you tease each twist (i.e., divide the very end of the twist into two). Next, re-twist the ends into a twist with two strands. This may expedite the locking process and immediately provide the appearance of a dreadlock.

Comb Twist Method

While the comb twist method works well on hair of any length, it is especially effective on short to chin-length hair. Also, it works best for utterly natural hair because there is a greater chance of breaking. This technique is twisting the hair with a comb to produce uniform coils.

-Use a shampoo that leaves no residue on your hair.

 -Allow to dry.

-Starting from the nape and creating a square at the base, part your hair by the lock size you choose.

-Use elastic bands to hold the parts in place.

-After dividing the hair into sections, remove the elastic and coat each area with locking gel.

-Take the hair strand and secure it in the comb’s head before beginning to twist it.

-Pull the comb down as you twist to form your loc.
