Ovulation is the period your ovaries release an egg to be fertilized. If unfertilized, it is shed along with the lining of your uterus during your period.

Ovulation is that time of your cycle where you are most fertile. Your fertile window, which is the day your ovaries release an egg and five days beforehand. Arousal may peek at this period. Well… See this as the universe playing its part in procreation.

The ovulatory phase of the female menstrual cycle usually lasts 16 to 32 hours. It occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual flow, that is, in a typical average 28-day menstrual cycle.

Sex drive can change in females from time to time. Though stronger at certain times, each woman has a different experience. A lot of women experience a high sex drive during ovulation, it is normal.

Hormones play a large role in these changes.

During ovulation, progesterone and estrogen levels increase, causing the lining of the uterus to thicken more and prepare for possible fertilization. An increase in the level of estrogen has been linked with an increase in sex drive.

Some women have also reported clearer skin during this period which makes them more attractive. You look and feel sexier which could also explain why you feel horny.

This sexual attractiveness could also be due to the production of pheromones during ovulation (Pheromones are chemicals that communicate sexual signals). This is the universe doing its duties if you are not ready…. Protect yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!

The vaginal discharge changes just before ovulation, usually a clear white, stretchy mucus. Sometimes referred to as egg white. The discharge also leaves your vagina moist. In fact, this mucus makes penetration easier and helps the sperm swim up the cervix to the fallopian tube.

There is increased vaginal sensitivity during this period due to increased blood flow to the pelvic region. Any form of movement could literally spark you up. Everything working together for good, just to get you pregnant.

Some women experience pain during ovulation. This pain is usually on the lower abdomen, on the side of the ovary producing the egg. Another way to confirm ovulation is the rise in basal body temperature.

Stress may reduce your sex drive during ovulation or even entirely. Getting a period tracker app on your phone will help you monitor these changes and document them properly if there is a need to visit a gynaecologist. More so if you notice anything unusual with your cycle.
