Why You Should go to the Gym

You have made gym visit a priority in your new year resolutions, and this is the second half of the second month already. Why haven’t you kickstarted it yet?

Planning to go to the gym and going to the gym are two different things. Yes, you know it exercising is good for you but there is a hindrance. What do you do? You need to get off your comfort zone and break a sweat but how do you go about it? We are here to answer that question.

1. Have an accountability partner. A joint workout can be worthwhile after all. Having an accountability partner can yield commitment and as well as motivates. Trust me, you don’t want to let down that friend who is counting on you.

2. Set realistic goals in black and white Ensure to pen down a realistic fitness goal you intend to achieve, not lofty ones.

Try setting a SMART goal that you can be accomplished by going to the gym. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, results-focused, and timeline.

By the time you finally start, record distances, weights, and other objective milestones in your fitness journey, you’ll be able to see progress on paper. Lest I forget, celebrate the smaller milestones along the way!

3. Get some comfortable workout clothes. Feeling good about the way you look may be an end goal of regular gym visits for you, but having some workout clothes that you like wearing now may help you achieve this goal.

If you have been hitting the gym in old or uncomfortable clothes, buy yourself a few new items to wear to the gym.

4. Start to rise early in the morning and head to the gym way before setting out to start your day. Make it an early morning routine.

It’s normal to feel tired, and lazy about getting out of bed, but once you make the first attempt and you remain consistent, you have set the rhythm already.

5. Consider getting a fitness trainer. It comes at a cost, if you can afford it, you might want to consider it.

Certified fitness instructors have a dedicated program to help you achieve your goals. From showing you how to use the equipment, to providing tips on nutrition and others, they are a valuable addition to your fitness journey.

You may find you don’t need their assistance for long, but having them present while you start could compel you to stick with it.
