Most high schools and universities in Nigeria have prohibited the use of makeup in their institutions. For girls who cannot go a day without having an entirely made-up face, this could be the end of the world as they know it.

Many girls do not feel confident or beautiful with their bare faces. These prohibitions, therefore, are a significant cause of worry. How can you feel beautiful without your usual makeup?

Now, these solutions may seem sentimental and may not be the answer you would prefer, but it is the truth. No amount of makeup changes who you are. And you are just as beautiful without makeup as you are with makeup.

It would help if you relied on your beauty on makeup products. Your bare face, no matter its blemishes or scars, is beautiful. You can only be beautiful when you accept yourself wholly for who you are. Embrace yourself and stride with confidence. That is what makes you beautiful.

However, there are ways to contribute to that beauty: properly taking care of your skin. You can do this by using the right skin products tailored to your skin type, eating the right foods, and drinking enough water. Here is a list of skin beauty tips to help;

Skin Beauty Tips

  • Have a simple skin routine. The basics are cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen, but depending on your skin concerns, you can switch this up. You could add a serum or toner for discoloration. Also, endeavor to add a hydrating product to your routine. All of this should be done with the help of a dermatologist.
  • Use sunscreen. Black people need sunscreen. Everyone on earth needs sunscreen. Use it.
  • Eat more fruits and less sugar. You will see a change in your skin.
  • Keep a more natural diet and do your best to avoid processed foods or junk.
  • Eat right. Make sure you are keeping a balanced diet full of vitamins and proteins. Have a side of vegetables before your main meal. It could be a few wedges of cucumber, cubes of carrots, or broccoli. Whatever floats your boat. Remember to eat your vegetables first.
  • Drink water. Staying hydrated is not just good for your health. It’s good for your skin as well.
  • Regularly wash your bedding. A dirty pillowcase is a breeding ground for dirt and pimples.
  • Wash your hair.
  • Mind your business. You may have heard this before, and you may have mistaken it for a joke. It is in no way a jest. Keep your nose away from other people’s drama and avoid unnecessary stress. It ruins the skin.

These tips ensure that your skin is glowing and that you look beautiful. You should still look just as lovely with sunscreen and Vaseline or lip balm on your lips.

You should never be in doubt of your beauty, nor should you rely on makeup for it. What makeup does is emphasize what is already there. It emphasizes your beauty; it doesn’t give it to you.
