Homemade Detergent Ingredients
A detergent is a mixture of chemicals with cleaning properties to remove grease, dirt or oil. It is similar to soap but dissolves easily in water.

Ingredients for homemade powder detergent
- Five cups of soap flakes.
- Three cups of baking soda.
- Five cups of washing soda (sodium carbonate
- Five cups of borax.
- Measuring cup.
- Glovers.
- Masks.
- Container.
- Bowls.
- Hand mixer.
Steps
- Wear your gloves and mask
- Pour the soap flakes into a large bowl
- Combine the Ingredients
- Combine the soap flakes, baking soda, washing soda, and borax. Mix the ingredients well in a bowl.
- Keep the detergent in an airtight container. You can now leave it in the container for household cleaning.
Ingredients for making powder detergent
Soda Ash, Sulphonic Acid, Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP), Sodium Sulphate, Sodium Hydroxide Solution (Lye), Water, Gloves, Mask, Bowls, Hand mixer, and Sieve
Steps
- Note: pour all the ingredients very carefully into the bowl, do not touch the ingredients.
- Wear your gloves and mask.
- Pour the soda ash into a large bowl
- Then add Sulphonic Acid slowly
- Add Sodium Hydroxide Solution or Caustic soda (Lye)
- Add water slowly
- Add Sodium Tripolyphosphate mix thoroughly and leave it to dry under the sun for a day.
- Use a sieve for the final powdery product.
Liquid Laundry Detergent
Liquid laundry detergent is a better choice because powder detergent can sometimes be difficult to dissolve. Liquid detergent is perfect for anyone with sensitive skin because it contains no irritating dyes or fragrances.
Ingredients
1 cup of soap flakes, 4 cups water, 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup washing soda (sodium carbonate), 1 cup of borax, Measuring cup, Bowl, Container, Gloves, Mask
Steps
- Wear your gloves and mask.
- Melt the soap flakes
- Pour the soap flakes into a bowl with hot water. Stir continually until the soap dissolves
- and melted.
- Combine the Ingredients
- Combine the melted soap flakes, baking soda, washing soda, borax and water.
- Allow the mixed ingredient to thicken
- Stir the mixture together until everything is dissolved. Cover in an airtight container for it to thicken.
