Handling your little ones while travelling is no simple task. The primary aim of vacation is to rest, unwind, and take a break from the hustling and bustling of one’s life.

But going with children, especially toddlers can be no vacation if one is not properly prepared for it. However, Pickasblog brings to your doorstep hacks for travelling with young kids.

1. Board an early morning or evening departure: Plan your flight around bedtime because it is the time your kids are going to fall asleep. The reason you might want to choose an early flight is that it is usually less crowded, and your kids just want to nap.

Early morning flights are the best chance to avoid delays at take-off and landing, a flight attendant said.

2. Come along with enough essentials: Experienced flight attendants urged parents to pack enough essentials for the flight and not overpack.

Your essentials might include smartphones and tablets (alongside kid-size headphones) fully loaded with your kid’s favourite carton or movies, sanitisers – wipes-pullups and diapers, water, and snacks (ensure that it is easily reached screening process).

3. Seat kids near the window: Sit kids away from the aisle because they might want to reach out as the food and beverage cart passes by.

4. Do not lose composure: Do not engage with a fellow passenger who complains about your children’s behaviour (screaming, sneezing, crying, etc.). You may offer an apology and worry about your child.

5. Hotel or vacation rental? A vacation rental is worth giving some thought because it means you can make it a temporal home where you can prepare your meal to your taste. If you chose to book a hotel, check the pictures and reviews on the internet.

6. Track them: In order not to lose track of your kids, attach a GPS tracking device to their wrist or bag. Or you can brand their arm with your name and phone contact.

7. Explain the journey to your kids: Let them know what’s going to happen like when it’s going to happen, and what is expected of them.

8. Show appreciation to flight attendants: During the holidays, most flight attendants are working away from their loved ones, it will be appreciated to extend nice gestures to them, and they will look out for you.

We hope this help as you prepare for this Easter Holiday. Comment with any other suggestions, we love to hear from you.
