What is Forehead reduction surgery?

A large forehead can be made to look smaller with forehead reduction surgery. The scalp is lowered towards the forehead with an incision along the hairline to narrow the forehead.

The form and hairline are natural, and the incision scar is undetectable, giving the face a more finished appearance.

What Is The Operating Technique And What Should I Expect After The Operation?

A forehead reduction operation is typically carried out while the patient is sedated. The recovery time is also brief because the procedure typically lasts an hour, and the stitches can be removed after about a week. It is typically advised to wash your hair just after removing sutures.

A month or so later, you can dye or perm your hair. Hair will grow in the scar area two to three months after the injury. This will provide a more natural-looking hairline and lessen the visibility of the scar.

Techniques For Forehead Reduction Surgery

Hairline-lowering surgery typically employs two techniques: scalp advancement and hair transplant.

The first method entails tugging the remaining scalp forward after removing a piece of the scalp from the front of the head. This method has a few drawbacks and is less frequent than hair transplantation. The results of scalp advancement can look unnatural, and it is tough to generate a natural-looking hairline, so we don’t recommend this treatment.

More patients are choosing hair transplants as the only option to decrease their hairline. Follicular unit excision (FUE) and Microscopically Dissected Elliptical Excision (MDEE), formerly known as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), are two hair transplant procedures that can be utilized to produce an aesthetically attractive hairline.

Both procedures require taking hair follicles from the back of the head and transferring them to the forehead to restore the hairline.

They made the hairline look more realistic, making them the preferred method for forehead reduction surgery. While MDEE is better-suited for patients with more advanced hair loss, FUE is advised for those needing only a few hair grafts.

How Much Does A Forehead Reduction Surgery Cost?

The price will vary depending on several factors, just like any cosmetic surgery. The most crucial factor in a forehead reduction operation is the number of hairs that must be transplanted, which varies from person to person because everyone’s hairline is different. However, you can ask for the prices after consulting any agent in charge of this surgery.

Recovery Of Forehead Reduction Surgery

After surgery, most patients can go home within a few hours. Over the subsequent week and a half, you must visit the office for suture removal. Around 2 to 4 weeks following surgery, you must go back for observation and follow-up visits.

As with any surgical procedure requiring an incision, tremendous care must be taken to maintain the area clean and permit appropriate wound healing.
