Henna is one of the hair care elements that Indians have shared with the rest of the globe. Indian ladies have been using henna to care after their gorgeous locks for years if not millennia. If you are allergic to chemical dyes and wish to get rid of grey hair organically, henna should be your go-to ingredient.

It is high in tannins, a plant ingredient that gives tea its deep color.

Does Henna Thickens Hair?

It is said that henna hair dye conditions your hair, giving it strength, thickness, and shine. It may also aid in restoring the natural pH balance of your hair and scalp!

How Do You Use Henna to Increase Hair Growth and Thickness?

1. To Promote Hair Growth

Mix 3 tablespoons of henna powder with 12 teaspoons each of Brahmi, curry leaf, amla, and purified ganja seed powders for hair growth. To this, add 1 teaspoon of onion juice.

To make a paste:

  1. Add boiling water now.
  2. Before applying the paste to your hair and scalp, let it soak for a few hours.
  3. After 45 to an hour, remove the pack by washing it off.

2. Conditions of your Hair

Henna powder can be used as an all-natural conditioner. Henna’s nourishing qualities will restore damage to the hair shaft. Henna will seal the hair cuticles, allowing them to retain more moisture.

Adding substances like yogurt or egg to henna improves its moisturizing effects. It will also strengthen and elasticity your hair, preventing it from breaking off easily. As a result, split ends will be reduced, and your hair will begin to heal naturally.

3. For premature Hair Graying

Take 2-3 teaspoons of henna powder and mix in 1 tablespoon each of gotu kola and sahadevi (vernonia cinerea) powders for thick black hair.

Brew green tea, filter, then add to produce a fine paste. Allow the paste to soak for a few hours. Apply it to your scalp and hair. After an hour, rinse it off.

4. To Treat Oily Scalp

Combine 2 teaspoons of henna powder with 1 tablespoon of each hibiscus and Triphala powder. Add a paste with fermented rice water (ganji) to the mixture. Allow the ingredients to marinate for two to three hours before applying to the scalp. Leave it on for 45 minutes before washing it off.

5. To Treat Scalp Infections

Mix 1 tablespoon henna powder, 1 tablespoon haritaki powder, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and yashtimadhu powder. Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil and 1 teaspoon of garlic juice. To form a smooth paste, add some water to the components. Apply it to the afflicted parts of the scalp. After an hour, wash it off.

6. For Head Lice

Combine 2 tablespoons henna and 1 tablespoon neem powder. Take 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and mix with 2 crushed camphor cubes. To make a paste, thoroughly combine all of the components.

Massage it into your scalp and hair. Put your hair in a bun and wrap it with a towel or shower cap. Leave it on overnight and thoroughly rinse with a herbal shampoo the following day.

It may also aid in restoring the natural pH balance of your hair and scalp!
