You are planning your wedding, and the expense is killing you, so you have the wonderful idea of cutting out the budget for a DJ. You have decided that you will be the DJ of your wedding.

Good for you, sis! Admittedly, it’s a lovely idea, and it is plausible, but how many people can actually do this?

If you are sure you can take care of your music while getting hitched at the altar, that means remembering every cue and paying attention to the event itself, then, of course, go for it. You can’t be swiping discs at a booth with your dress on, so how do you DJ your wedding?

If you put your mind to it, it’s actually not that difficult. But seeing as you’re not a professional DJ, you may have to put more work into the preparations.

Select the music platform you’ll be using. There are tons of music platforms now. Some are free, and platforms like Apple require payment before you can gain access to their songs. Opting for Apple or YouTube Music would be a great choice. You can find any song you’re looking for on there.

Surely, you must have a few favorite love songs or songs that must play a serious role in your and your partner’s lives; it’s time to put those songs to use. Create playlists of those favorite love songs, and don’t be afraid to explore more.

Apple has a discovery station with an algorithm that plays songs that it believes you may like or songs similar to any you may have played before.

Compile as many songs as you can and make sure that all the songs are appropriate for weddings. For example, you can’t be playing a rock Goth jam on your wedding day, except your wedding is Goth-themed, of course.

You can have a ‘panel of judges’ veto your selections. It could be a group of your best friends or just you and your partner. This allows you to remove excess songs and reduce your playlist to within the length of the wedding day.

Now that you’ve selected the songs, you are sure they will make an appearance. It’s time to select the key highlights: What song will you enter? What music will be on for the first dance, the father-daughter dance?

All the key moments must have their songs, and the music will mean a lot to you and your loved one since you chose the songs by yourself. Isn’t that great?

Now that the song selections are done and you’ve created your wedding playlist. It’s time to do a test drive of both the songs and the equipment you’ll be using for the day.

An ordinary Bluetooth speaker may not be sufficient for this event, so you need to get proper equipment and a good power supply for proper amplification and sound.

DJing your wedding is very possible. With the proper preparation, you will be the best DJ you have ever had.
