Girls, we can all admit that we like a good face beat; we feel fantastic in it, but does our confidence decline when the makeup comes off? Does your skin look good without the makeup? Is your skin clogged, dull, and acne-ridden?
There may be many reasons for this. For example, it could be hormonal; it could also be that your skin is just plain stubborn, and it could be that you last washed your bed articles (pillowcase or bedding) a very long time ago.
The pimples will not go away despite all the exfoliation, clarifying, and hydrating clay masks. However, have you considered that your makeup tools, like your brushes or beauty poofs, are dirty and are clogging your pores?
Admit it; you cannot remember the last time you washed your brushes, and they are all probably caked with residual foundations, concealers, or dirt.
This leads to your brushes becoming a breeding ground for bacteria and various infectious fungi. Apart from acne or skin blemishes, this can lead to life-threatening and disfiguring fungal skin infections.
Ladies, your makeup tools must be cleaned regularly to avoid all this unpleasantness. Effectively cleaning your brushes saves you the money and stress of buying extra skin care products you may not need; it helps you maintain better-looking skin and saves you the fright of visiting the hospital for skin infections.
It contributes to your skincare and saves you much money in health insurance. If you are ready to embrace your new skin, you should follow these steps to clean your makeup brushes properly.
How to clean your makeup brushes
There is no need to hurry towards detergent or soap; those two only dry your brush bristles. Take your time and follow these steps to clean your brushes effectively;
- Rinse your makeup brush under running water, preferably lukewarm. This aids in removing any leftover makeup product.
- Then, fill a bowl with lukewarm water and enough shampoo.
- Turn the brush tips in the water. Do this in round circular motions. Then, with the palm of your hands, scrub the brush to form a good lather. After a while of scrubbing, rinse the brush.
- Repeat this motion till the water runs clean.
- Squeeze out the excess moisture and leave the brush lying flat on a dry towel to air.
This method can be used to wash your beauty blenders and poofs as well.
Note: You should never wholly soak or submerge your brushes in water, nor leave them standing up straight to dry. The water could dislodge the glue that holds the head of the brush to the handle, leaving you with a stunted brush.
All makeup tools, including your makeup bags, should be cleaned regularly. You never know; your dirty makeup tools may have been the bane of your skin for a very long time.
