Have you never applied Makeup before? We will hook you up to a step-by-step process to make your first trial easier.

How to apply your Makeup step-by-step

    1. Before you begin, your face should be spotless of any old makeup, dirt, and oil. This is necessary to ensure that your results do not appear unnatural or caked. It will also help your Makeup last longer and look good all day. You can clean off old Makeup with micellar water, then wash your face with a face cleanser.

    2. After washing your face, apply a face moisturizer suited to your skin type.

    3. Some people prefer not to use a primer, but you are encouraged to do so. Primer enhances the flawless look of your Makeup, and it ensures that your Makeup lasts all day long. Use the tips of your fingers to distribute the primer in small amounts throughout your face. Your primer should also be suited to your skin type and must work well with your foundation type (matte foundation, liquid foundation, etc.)

    4. work a small amount of your foundation into your face with a damp foundation brush or beauty puff. Your foundation shade should be as close as possible to your skin color. Do not carelessly run it all over, but dab it in with little dabs into your face. Do this till the foundation is an even coat over your face.

    5. Concealers are used for three purposes. A light shade concealer is used as a base to highlight specific face areas, such as the under-eye area. They hide uneven skin and dark spots, and a dark concealer shade can be used as the base for a contour.

So, with a concealer brush, dab in and blend a light concealer shade on your under-eye area in an upside-down triangle shape.

Run a thin line with the same concealer down the bridge of your nose, chin, and center of your head (All these areas are the typical highlight spots). Blend them in either with the concealer brush or a smaller beauty blender. Blend them in till they blend entirely into your foundation.

You can also use a concealer the same shade as your skin color to hide blemishes the foundation could not cover-up. Add a spot of concealer to the area with the blemish and blend in. You can work more concealer until the blemish is covered correctly.

    6. With a setting powder or a loose powder, use a slightly damp beauty blender to set your under-eye area and every other area you may have highlighted. After which, use a fluffy brush to set the rest of your face.

    7. add depth to the sides of your face and the four corners of your forehead with a contour stick. Proceed to blend it in with a contour brush. You could also do this with a concealer; with the same concealer brush and a darker shade of concealer, blend it into the areas of your face you would like to contour (typically starting at the front of your brows, all the way down to the sides of the nose and to the very top of your nostrils. It is also applied to the sides of the face).

    8. Add a slight blush, highlighter, or bronzer to your face. You can even add all three in minimal amounts if you prefer. It gives your face life and color. Apply a blush with a blush brush to the apples of your cheek. You can apply highlighter to the inner corners of your eye, the top of your cheekbones, underneath your brow, and your cupid’s bow.

    9. Eye makeup involves filling in your brows with an eye pencil, applying eyeshadow to the lids of your eye, eyeliner to your lash line, and mascara to your eyelashes. This step can also be done before the whole face makeup. It all depends on your preference.

    10. Lipstick or Lip gloss is like the cherry on the cake. Use a color that suits your skin tone or overall attire and rub it in.

    11. Finally, finish with a setting spray to set and hold your look.

If this is your first time doing your Makeup yourself, be reassured if the results come out less than expected. Perfection takes time; just as the saying goes, practice makes perfect.
