Ankara Styles for Pregnant Women

As a pregnant woman, you do not want the whole pregnancy in plain store-bought clothes.

You most likely want to slay and slay hard, and what better way to do this than by making your diverse elegant styles from the beautiful Ankara fabric?

We have compiled a list of beautiful Ankara styles you can rock during and after pregnancy.

Dresses/Gowns

Gowns are the go-to for every woman, pregnant or not. This is because they are comfortable, easy to wear, and can be styled differently.

Some of the ways a gown can be styled are:

Kaftan gown:

The Kaftan gown is Ankara fabric made into a Kaftan- a loose, flowing, ankle-length garment with wide sleeves and a simple, straight-cut design.

It is loose and comfortable without requiring too much to get ready.

Boubou gown:

The Boubou gown is a relative of the Kaftan gown due to its looseness. In comparison, the kaftan is like a straight gown that is loose.

The boubou gown has excess fabric at the edges that make up the sleeves. At the same time, the bodice is styled to fit.

Flared gown:

The flare gown is the loosest on the list, named after its main feature- flareness.

It flares (extends into a circle) as much as you want it to. It can be styled as an off-shoulder, spaghetti strap, mono strap, or sleeves way.

You can also decide to make it mini, midi, or maxi. It is all dependent on you.

A-shaped gowns:

The A-Shaped gowns that are cut in the shape of an A. The dresses are slightly loose on top and taper into a full A below.

Due to the limited space at the top, this gown is perfect for the first few months of pregnancy when your bump is not very pronounced.

Your A-shaped dress may be sleeveless or with sleeves. It may also be a mini, midi, or maxi. The choice is all up to you.

Layered gowns

These gowns come in layers, the first being the smallest and the last being the biggest.

The layered gown is perfect for any month of pregnancy, especially the last few months, due to its abundance of space.

Smocked gowns

These are primarily for when you want form-fitting, comfortable attire. It is stylish and simple but can only be worn for the first few months of pregnancy due to its limited elasticity.

Kimono jackets

You can wear your kimono jacket (depending on the styling) as a type of gown or a jacket. The coat can be short or long; it is your choice.

Wrap gowns.

Wrap gowns are gowns you wrap around you to make them stylish. There are different types of wrap gowns: the straight, the A-shaped, and the flared. The flared one is the best companion throughout pregnancy because it has more breathing space. The first two are suitable for only the first few months.

Other honorable mentions are flared skirts, layered skirts, smocked skirts, peplum, and flared blouses.
